Northwoods Young Professionals
Northwoods Young Professionals is a new organization based out of the Rhinelander area. We currently host events and programming in Minocqua, Rhinelander, Eagle River, and Tomahawk, however, we have members who travel from Phillips, Wausau, and Prentice as well.
Niina and Kristen discovered they were not the only ones that saw a need for a young professionals group. Both decided to join forces and move forward with starting the Northwoods Young Professionals. See their bios below.
MISSION:
To bring young professionals together socially and professionally to better attract and retain young talent in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.
VISION:
To showcase what the Northwoods has to offer professionally, socially, and recreationally through events and programming designed to engage current residents and attract new residents.

Niina Baum: Co-Founder
Since graduating from Northland College in 2016 with a degree in business management, Niina Baum’s passion has been to help rural areas remain vibrant. After moving to Rhinelander two years ago to work at Nicolet College, she has been putting her passion into practice through volunteering, serving on boards, and by co-founding Northwoods Young Professionals (NYP). She is also pursuing a Master’s of Science in Information Communication Technologies through UW-Stout, is a recipient of Rhinelander’s Top Ten Under 40 award, and a TEDx speaker.
Kristen: Co-Founder
Kristen was born and raised in central Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities with a BA in Communications. She moved up to the Northwoods in 2019.
